Organs on chips sounds like a great idea is it? I am not so sure it is. these chips are being produced for the time being to test drugs, and find cures for disease. These chips also present a great leap forward for creating an artificial life form, or perhaps in augmenting future humans. they will be creating artificial blood as well. This artificial blood will support the organs on a chip much in the same way as the human body does you may find more information about these organs on a chip at this website.
The danger posed by these chips in my opinion is that they are going to be used to lessen the differences between humanity and machines. Some may find this to be a miracle, and feel it is great not to have to use animal test subjects.
Imagine a world where people exist on a microchip or on multiple microchips linked together much like a computer is today only with living tissue and blood substitutes. I wouldn't find it hard to believe that in the future these sorts of technologies will be used to create artificial bodies that will have human brains implanted in them or even grown in a test tube and then implanted.
Is this the direction humanity will take? I think many already plan to take that direction with the technology they even feel it is their duty. I am not sure what i feel about a microchip that replicates a human organ, but i do know how i feel about what people calling themselves trans-humanists will do with it. These people will use the technology long term to lessen humanity rather than save it, to enslave humanity rather than free it.
I do not trust the large drug companies as it is, and adding the trans-humanist religion to the mix just gives me chills for the future of our species. Is it not time for us to take a stand and fight for what is ultimately our survival? In my view we must use all our god given talents to fight and expose this evil.
