So Science is the answer to life's problems eh? Indeed, I would say knowledge is not a bad thing. We as humans have so much potential to progress in knowledge and use what we have learned for the benefit of mankind.
Yet some things are double edged blades and this thing called trans-humanism is just so in my opinion. The philosophy if you will, or some may say religion of trans-humanism to create new life and a new species they say in order to save humanity from all its ills and disease.
Yet truly it is self arrogance and evil in its thought. I grew up learning the duality of science and religion, it was in the news, school, and church we were taught that they were opposites. As i grew i realized the that the fervent attitude of science was in no way duality but the same as religion indeed, I would say that the philosophy and ideals of science are a religion to some and in reality to many and now with the advent of trans-humanism as a philosophy of science it truly has the makings of a true religion.
Indeed many religious people have been deceived by its promises in multiple faiths, the idea of eternal life and no disease, perpetually happy these are ideals put forward by people of faith.... But it is more than that it is the ideal of becoming as God or as close as an individual may attain, not by spiritual means or divine order but by mans own knowledge. Using DNA, robotics and the like to become more than human something new.
In this pursuit trans-humanists say the rest of humanity will either wane or be destroyed by the new species of human 2.0 and this is a good thing in their minds. It is the culmination of science in the form of tinkering with the human condition however the dangers are very real and very enticing to many because of our own egos and desires.
I will be putting forward more on this subject in the future this is just a forward if you will of what has come in my mind. At this time i feel that all of us is making a choice whether conscious or not my intention is to bring it to that point, as the end result if we do not is the utter destruction of humanity as we know it, and in my mind our very souls are on the line.
Some may not want to take this hard line and i understand it is not always the best course to take such a stance given history and its lessons and I am a student of history, so I do understand how easy it is to ignore a problem until it is in your face. Yet some perils never show themselves in such a way and trans-humanism is one such peril, a growing movement with many thoughts and ideals centered around a core philosophy, yet it represents the single greatest threat humanity has ever known.
Until this point for me there can be no middle ground in this and it is my hope that all may come to realize the same before it is much to late.
