In the afternoon of the same day the six men who began a journey together reach a place in the city and feel moved to stop and walk, a place by a river with train tracks, woods and bridges. All six men are still filled with a spirit of love and light. They begin on foot to walk a sloping path along the river that leads to a bridge. As they come closer to the bridge they can clearly see and feel that it was inhabited at some time, human waste, and a sense of darkness pervaded the area. Slowly they walk under the bridge. With stooped shoulders, they plod forward over garbage, old sleeping bags, tattered pieces of tarp, broken glass!
With no sign of human life they continue forward and stop at the other side to take in the scene. Suddenly one of the group notices a woman sitting on a log who is staring blankly into the river. Two of the group move forward towards her, as they move forward she turns and asks the men what group are you with. One of them immediately says we are with Jesus even as he spoke the two come closer to her, and a sense of relief crosses her face for a moment.
All six come closer to her as the first two men begin to speak to her it is clear she has been robbed and battered. She spoke of things that were taken and how she has no bus fare.
The men know the truth by the Spirit that she is broken and alone. The things she has lost are not material. She has lost pride, self-worth, and the light of life. The men ask to pray for her. She struggles with her words eyes puffed with tears and says if you do I will cry.
The men let her know its ok and they pray for her and some light returns into her being even just a spark. At that very moment a short woman stands up on top of the ridge above. She waves and says holy shit are you with that group we are waiting for. The men say no but explain why they are there. The Short woman then runs off. One of the group of six feels moved to give the woman on the log money for her bus fare after some hugs and words of encouragement the six men continue their journey.
Moving further along the rough ridge line and being lifted in The Holy Spirit they continue their journey. After they have traveled some distance, they come to another bridge. It is clear that between the pylons of the bridge, that there are three people sitting with bottles of beer.
As the six move forward to speak with them they stay seated but in a state of readiness. After some words and assurances are exchanged the mood of the three turns friendly, and one of the six feels moved to give his hoodie to one of the men under the bridge. Two more of the six feel moved to return to the van remembering that more hoodies are in the back.
As they return and offer all three hoodies to keep warm, and extras for any friends they have the girl asks the six men for prayer, and the men speak of needing prayer so they may find work. The Six and the three hold hands in a circle under that nameless bridge and pray mightily in Jesus name for all present.
The six men continue on their journey that day and give out many more hoodies and make many new friends. In truth on the journey back to their home The Beacon of Hope the six men realized they had been a Beacon of Light for those who needed it most.
